“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter.” Proverbs 25:2
Have you ever struggled to know what God’s will is for your life? It’s ok, so have I. Not everything in life is black and white.
Some things that fall into the category of “discerning God’s will”, might be:
Who should I date?
What college should I go to?
Who will be the mr. or mrs.?
Where should I move?
What job should I get or take?
It’s not that your not praying and it’s not always that you don’t want to know His will for you. More than likely, if your reading this blog, you desire and seek Him out in your daily life.
But according to the verse above. The reason we don’t always know His will is because God conceals it.
Why would God do such a thing? Doesn’t that seem a bit counter productive to God’s purpose for your life?
I don’t believe it’s because God doesn’t want you to know what His will is. It just might be that He has something much greater for us. He wants us to find Him, more than His will. Let’s be honest. If His will was in plain site, we may not seek Him at all.
There is a few things to remember in your pursuit of God’s will.
First, God isn’t the path to a great life. He is your best life. Secondly, God doesn’t want to map out your life. He wants to be your map.
The most dangerous thing for a person is not to get God’s will wrong. It’s when we get it right but miss God in the process.
