There are some people who would rather talk about you than to you. Talking about you makes it easier to justify what they believe about you. If they talk to you… you may change their heart. So for the sake of unbending devotion they continue talking about you instead of to you.
One reason we talk about people is because we have a need that isn’t being met from them. I want to start off by saying,
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.” Philliphians 4:19 (NKJV)
Your God will supply your need. But he will do it through the people that are in your circle. How do you treat the people in your circle? Do you talk about them or do you talk TO them?
What has talking about your brother ever accomplished? If you lack something, maybe your brother has bread in his house he can break for you. Maybe even his cupboards are full to the max. You won’t ever know by talking about him. You don’t discover the bread until you are invited into the house. You don’t get invited into the house until you talk to your brother. Are you talking about your brother or are you talking TO him?
Reality Check… when you are happier with who YOU are, you become happier with those around you. Don’t make fixing other people your life’s journey… especially if the conduit you plan on accomplishing this is by talking about people… not TO them.
