“He guides the humble in what is right.” Psalms 25:9 NIV
There is a story of an old lady who made her way through life by letting God direct her way. Every time she came to an intersection she would stop and throw a stick in the air. Whichever way the stick fell, she went. A man noticed her tossing this stick in the air. She threw it up once, twice, and eventually three times. He couldn’t help but ask her what she was doing. She said, “I’m throwing this stick up in the air, and wherever it lands, that is the direction God wants me to go.” Looking confused he asked her, “Why did you need to keep throwing it up in the air then?” She replied by saying, “The first couple of times He was showing me the wrong direction to go.”
Have you ever disliked the direction God has given you to go? Do you think you know what’s better for your life? Do you think your way is better than God’s way? Jesus says in His Word: “I am the vine, you are the branches” (Jn 15:5 NKJV). It is when we stay “connected” to Christ that we bear fruit. His life flows to you just like it flows from the vine to the branches.
In Psalms it says: “He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.” God will show you what is “right” if you will seek Him. Don’t live life as a stick throwing manipulator. Follow His way.
