Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
So often people think, “well, since God has made the day, then whatever’s going to happen is going to happen. No matter what we do we can’t change it. We may as well find happiness and just get comfortable with it.”
But I’m not sure that’s what this particular verse means and I know thats not what I read in His Word. We don’t serve a God who’s apathetic and I don’t believe God deserves a apathetic people.
In essence, today in not predetermined. It’s a decision.
This gives us a lot to rejoice and be glad about.
Today is the day we decide if we are going to fulfill our divine destiny.
Today is the day we decide if we are going to walk with Christ or not.
Today is the day we decide if we are going to love our wives like Christ loved the church.
Today is the day we decide if we are going to bring life to the people around us.
Today is the day we decide if we are going to rejoice and be glad in it.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to say that we are the sole author of our lives. God is the ultimate author of our lives. There are some things we can’t control..
But I still believe God gives us the privilege of being the co-author of our own story.
Today is not set in stone. There’s no day that is. And in all honesty, there will never be another day exactly like this one. So rejoice and actively participate in the day God has given. Because in 24 hours your day has passed and new one will dawn. Seize it while you can.
