When God led the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery, the Bible records that: God didn’t lead them through the Philistine country, even though it was shorter. God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. Exodus 13:17-18
God knows you better than you know yourself. Sometimes God takes us the long way. If He took us straight through He knows we may not be ready.
Are you single and do you wish God would hurry up and bring you a man or a woman? Maybe God’s knows He needs to take you the long way so that He might cultivate, prepare, and stabilize you.
Do you feel like your life is full of monotony? Maybe God is sharpening your skills, strengthening you gifts, and forging your character.
Are you praying and does it feel like heaven is silent? God is wise. He knows what you need, when you need it. He’s planning out your route.
Sometimes God takes us around, and through the desert. Because He knows what lies ahead, and He knows when we will be ready to face it.
Let God be your guide.
