God’s Arms Aren’t Short

Moses says in Numbers 11:21-23, “Here I am among six hundred thousand men on foot, and you say, ‘I will give them meat to eat for a whole month!’ Would they have enough if flocks and herds were slaughtered for them? The LORD answered Moses, “Is the LORD’s arm too short?

The Israelites wanted to have meat. God told Moses that He would provide it. Moses did what so many of us do in similar situations.  He doubted God could deliver it to 600,000 men. He knew there was just not enough animals to make it happen.  Good thing our knowledge doesn’t limit Gods ability.

Moses doubt is based on an estimation formed by his own logic. Even though logic is God given, it is not always the greatest way to estimate Gods ability.

Sometimes it might offend the ability of God all together. When we try to measure God’s abilities and limit him according to our logic, it sometimes insults His ability. Why tie down a limitless God by what we think is possible in our logic.  This approach only allows His ability to stretch as far as our mind allows it.

Some of us might feel that our current situation is the thing that is going to push God beyond the realm of possibility. Our natural tendency is to think that our current issue is the thing that is going to be beyond the reach of Gods arm.

My financial situation is such that God can’t help it.
I’m to ill, God can’t help me.
My marriage is damaged, God can’t help us.
My addiction is to strong, God can’t take it from me.
My family and friends are too far from God, His arm can’t reach them.

These thoughts are similar to that of Moses in this text. We become limited by our logic and limit God according to it as well. The reality is that Gods capabilities makes absolutely no sense at all.  Trust me, thats good.

God can bring provision that seems impossible.
God can heal where there is no hope.
God can mend marriages that are totally broken.
God can unchain you from addictions that have had you bound for years.
God can bring the furthest person closer to Him than we could ever imagine.

Whatever you may be facing, God’s arm can still reach you. God can perform outside the realm of your logic. You may not believe it’s possible. However, all things are possible with God.
