#1 – Make sure God is first in your finances. If He is not in control of your money, your money will be in control of you. (Colossians 1:17 declares that In Him all things hold together. So if your finances are not holding together, make sure you place your finances “in Him!”)
#2 – Understand that if your salary is $30,000 or more you make the top 2% of the RICHEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD (go to this website to see where you compare!)
#3 – Make a plan for your [God’s] money (BUDGET!) Proverbs 21:5 says, “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” So in other words, Make a plan and stick to a budget. Making haste makes you poor.
#4 – It takes TIME… Remember. You didn’t get here overnight.
#5 – Understand that Jesus said MONEY is the #1 indicator of where our heart is (Matthew 6:21) and is also the #1 competitor for our heart (Matthew 6:24). In other words, it is a spiritual impossibility to be a fully devoted follower of Christ and it not impact our finances.
